Outside of his legal practice, Dylan enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, frequently exploring local parks, attending sporting events, and engaging in community activities throughout the Rockford area.

Dylan Johnson is an Associate Attorney at Barrick, Switzer, Long, Balsley & Van Evera, LLP, where he concentrates primarily on family law, including divorce, child support, parental responsibility allocation, and post-decree matters. He also contributes to cases involving personal injury, business disputes, and municipal law—reflecting the firm’s comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to client service. Dylan initially joined the firm as a legal intern in 2023 before advancing to his current role as an associate attorney.
A Rockford native, Dylan earned his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2024, where he participated in advocacy programs and legal research projects with a focus on family and civil litigation. He graduated magna cum laude from Rockford University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and was also a member of the university’s baseball team.
