Mr. Green is a native of the Rockford/Winnebago County area, graduating from Guilford High School, University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, and receiving his J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law.
When not practicing law, Mr. Green enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, skiing and other outdoor activities.

Thomas A. Green is a partner with Barrick, Switzer, Long, Balsley & Van Evera, LLP , joining the firm in 1985 and becoming partner in 1990. His practice is focused in several areas including all aspects of municipal law, with the firm representing over 20 municipalities and Mr. Green being lead counsel for the largest municipality represented by the firm.
Mr. Green has a significant emphasis in land use, zoning and real estate development for private clients. Mr. Green also handles a large volume of collections for creditors and handles debtor/creditor issues. Additionally, Mr. Green represents businesses and financial institutions, assisting in documentation of large public financial transactions and private land transactions.
Mr. Green is involved in the private business and corporate sector, representing several businesses and corporations in Northern Illinois.
