Beyond her law practice, Jody enjoys spending time with her family, horses, and dogs. She rides horses competitively in the barrel racing and team roping arenas; and, otherwise, she enjoys leisure rides with her friends. In addition to her horses, Jody enjoys outdoor activities, biking, and running, including having completed the Chicago Marathon. Jody also loves to volunteer in the community and has served on boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations.
Jody L. Booher
Jody Booher joined Barrick, Switzer, Long, Balsley & Van Evera, LLP in 2007; and, she was named a partner in 2015. She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Jody’s practice involves civil litigation in all state and federal courts in Illinois with focus and emphasis in civil appeals and equine law. She continues to develop her practice in these areas; and, she participates in regular speaking engagements. Jody also practices in other areas including, but not limited to: adoptions, business and corporation formations and organizations, business transactions and contracts, collections, commercial litigation, construction law, debtor/creditor issues and rights, employment and labor law, animal law, foreclosures, insurance defense, and real estate transactions. She is also an active and dedicated member of the firm’s personal injury group dealing with automobile accidents, slips and falls, and other injuries to person and property. Jody regularly represents large and small business, financial institutions, and insurance companies. She also represents a wide variety of individuals, including those she is appointed to represent as a Guardian ad Litem.
Jody is a native of the Rockford area where she graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School. She completed her undergraduate education at Rockford University where she majored in psychology with a minor in mathematics. Jody then attended Northern Illinois University College of Law.
